Jedes Jahr kommen viele G&auml;ste zum Programm der Berliner Festspiele. 
K&uuml;nstler*innen genauso wie Publikum. 
Das kostet viel Energie. 
Zum Beispiel f&uuml;r die vielen Scheinwerfer. 
Wir wollen umwelt&middot;freundlich arbeiten. 
Daran arbeiten wir seit vielen Jahren. 
Darum wurden unsere beiden Geb&auml;ude umgebaut. 
Das Haus der Berliner Festspiele. 
Und der Gropius Bau. 
Sodass sie so wenig Energie wie m&ouml;glich verbrauchen. 
Wir achten auch bei unseren Dienst&middot;reisen auf die Umwelt. 
Und bei unserer t&auml;glichen Arbeit. 
Wir gucken:

Au&szlig;erdem setzen sich sich die Berliner Festspiele f&uuml;r den Klima&middot;schutz ein. 
Wir laden auch K&uuml;nstler*innen zu diesem Thema ein. 
K&uuml;nstler*innen, die &uuml;ber Klima&middot;schutz und Nachhaltigkeit nach&middot;denken.

Bei den Berliner Festspielen gibt es eine Intendanz. 
Das bedeutet: 
Diese Person leitet die Gesch&auml;fte. 
Und sie entwickelt das j&auml;hrliche Programm. 
Zusammen mit den einzelnen Festival-Leiter*innen. 
Seit dem 1. September 2022 ist Matthias Pees der Intendant der Berliner Festspiele.

The 10 Remarkable Productions 2024

On 26 January, the Theatertreffen&rsquo;s jury of critics announced their selection of 10 remarkable productions for the 2024 Theatertreffen at a press conference. Our congratulations go to the nominated production teams and all participants! The programme will be published on 5 April.

Theatertreffen 2024

&ldquo;Radical Playgrounds&rdquo;, an art parcours at the Gropius Bau, is spending eleven weeks exploring the differences between the concepts of play as competition and free play. Visitors are invited to walk and climb on the various installations and sculptures, to activate them and to shape the project collectively.

Ren&eacute; Pollesch provided unforgettable moments at the Theatertreffen in 2002 with the invitation to his &ldquo;Prater-Trilogie&rdquo; parts 1 to 3 and in 2012 with &quot;Kill your Darlings! Streets of Berladelphia for unforgettable moments at the Theatertreffen, for which we are deeply grateful. Ren&eacute; Pollesch died suddenly and unexpectedly on 26 February at the age of 61. The 3sat recording of &ldquo;Kill your Darlings! Streets of Berladelphia&rdquo; is available in our media library until 27&nbsp;May 2024.

<h3>Radical Playgrounds: From Competition to Collaboration</h3>

<h4>27 April to 14 July 2024</h4>

Berlin is known for its numerous &ldquo;Spielpl&auml;tze&rdquo; for kids, but the project &ldquo;Radical Playgrounds&rdquo; is a place where play gets serious.&nbsp;It arrives at Gropius Hain for eleven weeks like an itinerant, temporary funfair: both melancholic and light-hearted, sad and joyful, funny and serious.&nbsp;

<h3>Nancy Holt:&nbsp;Circles of Light</h3>

<h4>22 March to 21 July 2024</h4>

Over the course of five decades, Nancy Holt explored how we perceive our environment and how we attempt to understand our place on the surface of this planet. From March 2024, the Gropius Bau presents Circles of Light, the artist&rsquo;s most comprehensive survey exhibition in Germany to date. It includes film, video, photography, sound works, concrete poetry, sculptures and expansive installations as well as drawings and documentation from over 25 years.

<h3>Pallavi Paul: How Love Moves</h3>

<h4>22 March to 21 July 2024</h4>

With How Love Moves, the Gropius Bau presents the first major institutional solo exhibition of Pallavi Paul. As an artist and film scholar, Paul engages the camera as her primary tool to interrogate how regimes of &ldquo;truth&rdquo; are produced and sustained in public life. Through her multimedia practice spanning film, installation, performance, drawing, photography and writing, she negotiates the documentary not only conjured as film or image &ndash; but as an ecology of materials, networks, global alliances and systems.
