The tuning forks are distributed in the geographically accurate scale of 1:33,000; the altitudes are converted into a linear elevated relief: the Sonnenberg as the farthest eastern peak of the Alps with 484m at ankle height, the Mont Blanc with 4,809m as the highest peak above head height. In analogy to the peaks they represent, the approx. 130 tuning forks are of different frequencies.

The spectators wandering through the area of 24m x 13m walkable mountains can strike the tuning forks, which are about 25cm long and will ring for up to three minutes, and produce an ever-changing acoustic panorama of Europe’s youngest mountains, a floating sound relief.
