This includes opportunities to gather and spend time together, such as during our&nbsp;<a href="${link:{uuid:{58ddaa66-8698-4aa9-aa8e-c8255a2a2882},repository:{website},path:{/bfs-de/en/gropius-bau/programm/2024/veranstaltungen/summer-listening-sessions}}}">Summer Listening Sessions</a> with the Berlin record store and label Sound Metaphors. On three evenings, we’ll conclude the day with music at the Beba Pavilion. Come and join us! Until the start of the autumn programme, the exhibition hall and restaurant Beba will be open from 12:00 to 18:00. The Walther K&ouml;nig bookshop will be closed until 3 September.

Over the course of five decades, Nancy Holt explored how we perceive our environment and how we attempt to understand our place on the surface of this planet. From March 2024, the Gropius Bau presents Circles of Light, the artist&rsquo;s most comprehensive survey exhibition in Germany to date. It includes film, video, photography, sound works, concrete poetry, sculptures and expansive installations as well as drawings and documentation from over 25 years.

Reflexes &amp; Reflections. 7 October, the war in Gaza and the debate in Germany

As a long-standing media partner of the Theatertreffen, 3sat presents specially produced television recordings of three productions invited to the festival in its programme under the title “Starke St&uuml;cke”. The recordings of “Bucket List”, “Laios. ANTHROPOLIS II” and “Macbeth” are accessible in the Media Library until 30 August 2024 (“Bucket List” until 2 May 2027).

To mark its 60th anniversary, Jazzfest Berlin is celebrating the cultural diversity of the neighbouring district of Moabit in collaboration with around 35 official partners and initiatives and with over 350 participants of all ages.&nbsp;In June 2024, interviews were conducted with 20 partners who presented their perspectives, wishes and ideas for the Jazzfest Community Lab Moabit. The international Jazzfest Research Lab&nbsp;welcomes academics and students to take a critical look at the festival’s archive, its programmes, creators, musicians and – last but not least – its myths. In two seminars during the summer semester of 2024, students from the Berlin University of the Arts and the University of Hildesheim have explored the festival’s history from various perspectives. In this film, the participants give a first look at how they dealt with their research subject.

The 10 Remarkable Productions 2024

On 26 January, the Theatertreffen’s jury of critics announced their selection of 10 remarkable productions for the 2024 Theatertreffen at a press conference. Our congratulations go to the nominated production teams and all participants! The programme will be published on 5 April.

“Radical Playgrounds”, an art parcours at the Gropius Bau, is spending eleven weeks exploring the differences between the concepts of play as competition and free play. Visitors are invited to walk and climb on the various installations and sculptures, to activate them and to shape the project collectively.
