Marius Neset Golden Xplosion

He is the hot-shot of the young European jazz scene; Norwegian born and Copenhagen based saxophone player Marius Neset receives highest praise from the media. Journalists have been comparing his play with Michael Brecker’s full-blooded sound as well as Jan Garbarek’s high sensitivity in approach of sounds. His subtle humour, his mazy compositions and the coherent use of acoustic and electronic elements are more reminiscent of his teacher Django Bates, though. Derived from the English-Scandinavian piano trio Phronesis his outfit Golden Xplosion is entertaining and challenging, irreverent yet true to tradition.
