The KIM Collective can be found lurking in the creative netherworld far beneath the festival stage, ready to pounce and hungry for musical creation. The twelve Berlin-based musicians tap into the sounds, noises and events from the above using their unique, self-built 360° multi-channel sound installation. The sound is then electro-acoustically transformed, reduced, enlarged, bent, pulverized, scattered, muddled, embellished, lost or forgotten. During the first two evenings of the festival, via live-processing they will create a simultaneous musical performance-echo of the concerts taking place on the main stage and in the wings. Thereby, the process of listening to music is turned inside out. During the concerts, small groups of guests will have access to the space below the stage. During intermissions as well as before and after the concerts above-ground in the Festspielhaus, the collective will perform their own compositions, creating a party-dynamic that includes an ecstatic “RRRkestra-ceremony”. Please register on site to gain access to this underground world.
