About Performing Arts Season

Since 2023, the Berliner Festspiele’s Performing Arts Season has been presenting a range of outstanding international dance, theatre and performance productions at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele and Gropius Bau during the autumn and winter months. Some of the works shown are co-produced by the Berliner Festspiele or specially produced in Berlin. The Performing Arts Season is curated by Yusuke Hashimoto.

One of the focal points of the first season  between October 2023 and March 2024 was on current artistic forms of physical expression with works by Steven Cohen, Compagnie de Chaillot / Rachid Ouramdane, Stefan Kaegi (Rimini Protokoll), Dana Michel, Dimitris Papaioannou, RambaZamba Theater & Tomás Saraceno and Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch + Terrain Boris Charmatz.

Between October 2024 and January 2025, the second edition of the series focussed on issues of memory and tradition in contemporary performing arts with works by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Radouan Mriziga / Rosas, A7LA5, Thorsten Lensing, Lucinda Childs Dance Company, Taylor Mac & Matt Ray, Ohad Naharin / Batsheva Dance Company, Philippe Quesne / Vivarium Studio and Trisha Brown Dance Company with Noé Soulier.
