From September 2019 to September 2020, the 11th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art unfolded as a process with “exp. 1”, “exp. 2”, and “exp. 3”. From 5 September to 1 November 2020, an exhibition, serving as an epilogue, brought together these experiences and the issues they raised in four locations, including the Gropius Bau.
In their diverse modes of articulating solidarity, vulnerability and resistance, the contributions rose up to materialise the complicated beauty of life amidst the turbulent times we inhabit.
The 11th Berlin Biennale was curated by María Berríos, Renata Cervetto, Lisette Lagnado and Agustín Pérez Rubio.
