Participative Performance for Children | Rirkrit Tiravanija: DAS GLÜCK IST NICHT IMMER LUSTIG
Join a collective, playful and simple improvisation session at Gropius Bau: Come together to dance, play and connect. Despite their diverse origins and ages, humans are united by a shared need for expression and moments of joy. Here, you can let loose while stop-dancing and moving spontaneously. This session is organized by Susanne Grau and Arantxa Ciafrino, in collaboration with Franziska Gerth and Juana del Mar. Together, they offer dance classes at two refugee homes in Berlin, supported by the FLINTA organization Seitenwechsel
The event takes place on a demo station by Rirkrit Tiravanija. The stage-like sculpture invites people to “demonstrate” something. Tiravanija plays with the different meanings of the term “demonstration” as both a political protest and a presentation of someone’s talent or hobby. For the duration of the exhibition, the demo station provides a space for daily public performances.
