For over 35 years, Rirkrit Tiravanija has been expanding the possibilities of what can happen in an exhibition space. As part of his genre-crossing practice, the artist creates situations that offer space to eat and drink, play and rest, encouraging chance encounters, relationships and their failure – in other words: life.

From 12 September 2024 to 12 January 2025, DAS GLÜCK IST NICHT IMMER LUSTIG brings together more than 80 works made between 1987 and 2024, ranging from early installations, to experimental 8mm films and photographs, to text-based paintings and regular activations of participatory works.

An awareness team is available during and after the event. You can contact the awareness team if you have experienced discrimination or harassment, need to deal with conflicts or emotions, or need someone to talk to. The team consists of trained anti-discrimination counsellors. You can recognize the awareness team by their blue badges.

During the event, photographs and video recordings may be made in which you may be recognisable.
By attending, you consent to these recordings being used to communicate the event or exhibition.
