The music presented to the audience in the Chamber Music Hall by Pierre-Laurent Aimard and the SWR Experimentalstudio comes straight from the heart: “… selig ist …” by Mark Andre, premiered at the Donaueschinger Musiktage 2024, is a highly virtuoso piano piece on the borders between the instrument and field recordings and between pain and solace. This intermediate state expressing the unfathomable reflects the memory of the far too brief life of a prematurely deceased child. Helmut Lachenmann, a former teacher of Mark Andre, embarks on a path of audible discovery in his expansive Clarinet Trio, enabling the exploration of both “resonance” and “movement”. Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Jean-Guihen Queyras and Mark Simpson have come together to present this vivid work, guaranteeing a maximum of intensity.
