This workshop facilitated by Jennifer Payán will emphasise and explore the underlying sense of play that Trisha Brown's choreographies interchangeably hold. It will journey through the stages of discovering and awakening a physical readiness that will anchor and encourage the confidence to play with the risk and spontaneity inherent in Trisha Brown’s work.

The morning session will begin with a guided warm up using a combination of yoga, pilates, dance, and improvisation to awaken a full-bodied presence and awareness. Through a series of guided improvisational structures, participants will challenge and connect their brains and bodies through zones of exploration emphasising intentionality, weight, falling, breath, and distal initiation points that will create the foundational language for the repertoire session.
In the afternoon, participants will first learn phrase material from “Working Title”, integrating the morning’s work into the embodiment of Browns’s repertory. The workshop will conclude with small group improvisations that draw from the phrase material and movement methodologies trained, celebrating the learning together.
