20 to 24 November 2025You like to write poems, plays, short stories, slam poetry or experiment with language? Do you want to present your texts to an audience at a reading in Berlin? Would you like to meet other young authors, exchange ideas with professionals, and try out writing workshops?Applications for the 2025 Treffen junger Autor*innen will be possible from March 2025.&nbsp;The selection of the winners chosen by the jury will be announced in September&nbsp;2025.

1 to 8 June 202495 ensembles from all over Germany have submitted their productions for the 45th&nbsp;Theatertreffen der Jugend. The applicants come from all 16&nbsp;federal states and have developed their productions in schools, youth cultural institutions, municipal and state theatres, community theatres and independent theatre groups and venues.

21 to 27 September 202451 ensembles from 12 federal states have submitted their productions for the 11th Tanztreffen der Jugend. The dance productions submitted were created in a variety of contexts, such as schools, ballet or dance schools, dance houses, theatres, the independent scene or in conjunction with associations or youth cultural institutions.

The Treffen junge Szene hosted by Berliner Festspiele are aimed at young artists between the ages of 11 and 21 who are active in the fields of theatre, dance, music and literature. The meetings of the winners of the previous national contests in Berlin present the artistic work of the young generation are an opportunity for the exchange of ideas, for development and for self-reflection.

21 to 25 November 2024Almost 400 young writers from all over Germany have applied for this year’s Treffen junger Autor*innen. The expert jury has now made its selection from the entries! 20 authors have been selected as prize winners. They will be invited to the 39th Treffen junger Autor*innen in Berlin.

28 November to 3 December 2024Young musical talents from all over Germany have applied for the Treffen junge Musikszene competition. The expert expert jury has now made its selection from the entries! A total of 13 acts, including four bands, one duo and eight soloists, have been selected as winners. They will be invited to the 41st Treffen junge Musikszene in Berlin.

Musikfest Berlin in the Media Library

The international Jazzfest Research Lab&nbsp;welcomes academics and students to take a critical look at the festival’s archive, its programmes, creators, musicians and – last but not least – its myths. In two seminars during the summer semester of 2024, students from the Berlin University of the Arts and the University of Hildesheim have explored the festival’s history from various perspectives. In this film, the participants give a first look at how they dealt with their research subject.

Introducing: Jazzfest Research Lab

To mark its 60th anniversary, Jazzfest Berlin is celebrating the cultural diversity of the neighbouring district of Moabit in collaboration with around 35 official partners and initiatives and with over 350 participants of all ages.&nbsp;In June 2024, interviews were conducted with 20 partners who presented their perspectives, wishes and ideas for the Jazzfest Community Lab Moabit. You can get a first impression with this film.
