The 3sat-Award for an artistically innovative achievement is awarded as part of Theatertreffen. This year, it goes to Walter Bart, Hannah Baumann, Pina Bergemann, Nikita Buldyrski, Henrike Commichau, Linde Dercon, Leon Pfannenmüller and Anna K. Seidel for their collective authorship of “Die Hundekot-Attacke” at Theaterhaus Jena.

The award ceremony will take place with a live audience following the performance of “Die Hundekot-Attacke” at Haus der Berliner Festspiele.

Since 1997, 3sat has bestowed the 3sat-Award for an artistically innovative achievement to one or more artists from the circle of the invited ensembles. In 2023, Walter Bart, Hannah Baumann, Pina Bergemann, Nikita Buldyrski, Henrike Commichau, Linde Dercon, Leon Pfannenmüller and Anna K. Seidel will receive the award for their collective authorship of “Die Hundekot-Attacke”. The jury says:

“Relentless, witty, intelligent. ‘Die Hundekot-Attacke’ is a text that skilfully plays with facts and fiction. It questions, satirizes and reveals clichés, bandies about the offended souls of artists, the vanities of actors and the grandeur of critics as well as the presumably private and, over and over, the ensemble’s – alleged – perplexity. This text was created by a collective and (and this is what actually makes it funny) constantly scrutinizes precisely this working method. It is a multi-faceted, pseudo-documentary text about creating a play that is based on a true event, and at the same time a wonderful riddle that doubles back on itself more than once.”

The 2024 jury consists of Nora Hertlein-Hull (director of Theatertreffen), Katrin Ullmann (theatre critic and member of the Theatertreffen-jury) and Wolfgang Horn (member of the music and theatre editorial staff of ZDF). The 3sat-award comes with a prize money of 10,000 Euros.
