Alfred-Kerr-Acting-Award

The Alfred-Kerr-Acting-Award was initiated in memory of the Berlin theatre critic Alfred Kerr by his children Judith and Michael Kerr in 1991, together with Pressestiftung Tagesspiegel and Berliner Festspiele/Theatertreffen. It recognises an outstanding performance by a young actor in one of the productions invited to Theatertreffen. The award comes with a sum of 5,000 Euros and is offered by the Alfred Kerr Foundation with support from Berliner Festspiele. The award receives additional financial support from Verlag Der Tagesspiegel and the Hartung family / Gustav Kiepenheier Bühnenvertriebs-GmbH. It is awarded at the end of the Theatertreffen. Each year, a renowned theatre personality serves as juror.
