The two dancers deal with the formative feeling that arises in the fleeting moment between childhood and adulthood.
The invitation "Catch me!", the desire for music and trust, the fun as the foundation of our concept as well as the courage to just get going and know that we will somehow land. Accompanied by childlike imagination, twelve years of being cheeky, testing boundaries, but also the urge to develop and be taken seriously. Supported by the end of a chapter. The formative phase between being a child and growing up. Supported by a chair. The chair is not a prop, but a member of the ensemble, it shifts the perception between solo, duo and trio. Moments together - held by trust and surprise.
We are Paul and Yourina. We have been dancing together all our lives in Tanzparcours, a participative and intergenerational project for the development of contemporary dance under the direction of Kathi, Ludovic and Eléa Fourest. The recently founded duo Chipp*ies was born out of a desire to develop something new. Improvisation according to a planned structure and choreography combined with twelve years of cheekiness. "Stuhltanz" is a visualisation of our way of creating dance, our understanding of dance and our decades of familiarity.
