Play development by and with young people from Weimar and the surrounding area

Junges DNT
Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar and Staatskapelle

Two young women in old-fashioned costumes are each reading a book. One woman is in the foreground of the picture and out of focus. The second woman is further in the background and is clearly recognisable.

The play development combines Mascha Kaléko’s poetry with the players’ biographical research into their own families’ experiences of migration and war. The examination of Kaléko’s language and life story results in a polyphonic theatre evening about war, homelessness and dealing with upheaval - poetic, political and with a strong reference to the present. A poetic evening about the justified claim to a fulfilled life in freedom and peace.
