David Can Erekul

David Can Erekul, born in 1990, works in Berlin as a pianist, keyboardist composer and piano teacher. In 2003 and 2005 he was a prize winner of the Treffen junge Musik-Szene with the band Resoluto.

In the context of the Theatertreffen der Jugend, the Treffen junger Autor*innen and at events of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research he took over the musical arrangement of the Intermezzi several times. He studied jazz piano and percussion as a minor subject at the Musikhochschule in Cologne and successfully completed his studies in 2016. Since 2009 he participated in numerous projects of pop, soul and jazz. Currently, his focus is on the development of his solo project, in which electronic elements meet the acoustic spectrum of the piano and drums, taking listeners* on a quest for modern soundscapes and driving beats. He also collaborates with various artists such as Meisje Djamila, Daughter, Jazzy Gudd and Molly's Peck, both as a live keyboardist and in the studio.
