Tickets & Online Shop

There are several ways of purchasing your tickets: online, at the daytime box office at Gropius Bau, or at the evening box office (subject to availability).

Online

You can purchase tickets to our upcoming events and our exhibitions at the BerlinerFestspiele webshop. You can pay for your tickets with a credit card (Mastercard, Visa, American Express) or PayPal in accordance with EU Directive PSD2 (Payment Services Directive 2).

Print your own ticket or use the Mobile Ticket. Another alternative is delivery by post.

Some of our events are highly frequented. Still now and again, tickets can become available. Please check our online shop periodically.

Payment in the webshop

If you select “credit card” as the payment method in our webshop, you will be redirected to an encrypted page of our payment service provider Telecash after completing your order. You can recognise this in the address bar of your browser by the address, beginning with: https://www.ipg-online.com/connect/payment

After you have entered your credit card details here, you will – if your bank supports 3D-Secure – be taken to a page of your bank with a security query. This security question varies from bank to bank. You may also have to have your credit card activated for 3D-Secure (MasterCard SecureCode / Verified by VISA) or enter your data in a corresponding banking app.

After successfully passing the 3D-Secure security check, the credit card payment will be booked and you will be redirected back to our webshop to a confirmation page of your purchase.

If you have any questions about 3D-Secure or if you have problems with the security query, please contact your credit institution. Without 3D-Secure, it is unfortunately no longer possible to make a purchase on our website.

What is 3D-Secure?

3D-Secure is a worldwide security standard in online commerce and was developed by credit card providers to protect credit card payments on the Internet. The 3D-Secure procedure is intended to ensure that the legitimate credit card holder actually makes the online payment. More and more banks are using this procedure.

How does 3D-Secure work?

With 3D-Secure, an additional step is required to release a payment. This is called strong customer authentication, or two-factor authentication. By assigning a secret password, it is ensured that only the credit card holder can make payments with the card – it is no longer sufficient to only know the credit card data. The secret password is only known to the credit card holder and the bank and is entered into an input window of the bank during the order process in the webshop – this prevents password theft through so-called “phishing”.

The first time you pay with your credit card using the 3D-Secure method, you will be asked to enter the secret password in the bank's input window or in a banking app. For future purchases with credit card payment in the 3D-Secure procedure, you use this password chosen by you. Whether authentication must be carried out each time using the 3D-Secure procedure depends on the decision of the respective card-issuing bank.

How can I activate 3D-Secure?

If you have not already done so, you can register for the 3D-Secure procedure with your card-issuing bank. To do this, log in to Online Banking or a corresponding banking app, or contact your contact person at the bank for further assistance.

Does my credit card already support 3D-Secure?

You can ask your bank whether your credit card already supports 3D-Secure.

What does 3D-Secure cost?

3D-Secure is free of charge for you as a credit card user. For more information, please contact your bank.
