Janina Brinkmann

Janina Brinkmann earned a master’s degree in fashion design from Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. She then worked on several productions as a costume design assistant at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus theatre in Hamburg. She has been designing costumes for theatre, film and opera productions since 2009. The productions of “Uncle Vanya” at the Schauspiel Stuttgart theatre and “die unverheiratete” (The Unmarried Woman) at the Burgtheater in Vienna (directed by Robert Borgmann) that used her costume designs were invited to be performed at the Theatertreffen festival in Berlin in 2014 and 2015. She was also nominated for a German Film Award in the category of best costume design in 2022 for the costumes she created for the feature film “Leander Haußmanns Stasikomödie”.
