Eileen Evans

Eileen Evans (1962) has worked in the arts sector for over 25 years in a range of roles including venue & company management, marketing & research, and administration & finance.

In her role as general manager of Forced Entertainment she works collaboratively with the creative, management and governance teams to define and pursue the artistic ambitions of the company, and ensure the company’s on-going viability and development. Eileen is committed to developing best practice in arts management; attending to and understanding the range of processes and steps that are necessary to achieve projects, develop relationships and deliver work to audiences.

Forced Entertainment is a performance group founded in 1984 that have a huge impact on the development of a uniquely British style of avant-garde performance. The internationally renowned group is committed to a collective practice, building and maintaining an ensemble that share a history and equal involvement in the creative process.
Eileen began her career in arts management in a burgeoning arts centre in Portsmouth on the south coast – developing her skills in marketing, venue management, film, music and arts programming. She also worked as a community artist, notably teaching print design and silk-screen printing in prisons. For six years she was marketing manager for a multi form arts and music centre with a national reputation, the Leadmill. Eileen began working with Forced Entertainment in 2000, first to deliver the company’s education programme, then as company administrator in 2003 and in 2008 she was appointed general manager.
Eileen has two teenage daughters and lives in Sheffield.
