Jeroen Versteele, born in 1980 in Leuven, Belgium, was a dramaturg at Berliner Festspiele from 2017 to 2021. Previously, he worked as a freelance culture journalist for the Belgian daily newspaper De Morgen and as a dramaturg at NTGent (2005–2010), Münchner Kammerspiele (2010–2015) and Ruhrtriennale (2015–2017), during Johan Simons’ artistic directorship at all three institutions. He has also worked with choreographers Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods and Tian Gebing/Paper Tiger Theatre Studio as well as the theatre collective Wunderbaum.
