Anne Tismer is a performance artist. Born in Versailles, she trained at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and was a pupil of Erni Mangold. This was followed by a long-standing collaboration with Jürgen Kruse. Since 2004 she has worked with John Bock and Knut Klaßen, amongst others, as well as devising her own artistic actions. In 2005 she founded the collective GutesTun together with Rahel Savoldelli and co-founded the Ballhaus Ost in Berlin in 2006. From 2009 to 2017 she worked principally in Togo with Joel Ajavon. Her first solo exhibition was held in 2010 at the Neuer Aachner Kunstverein (NAK). In 2016 in Togo Anne Tismer joined the hiphop mix group NEW STAR DANCE COMPANY. In 2017 she went to the Volksbühne Berlin, where she worked with several dancers from the company. Here she also met Marie Schleef and worked with her on “To The Lighthouse” (premiere 2018). In 2019 she created the piece “Sample 1 Lomé Berlin” with the NEW STAR DANCE COMPANY at Ballhaus Ost. She is currently working on the dance piece “Der Ausflug” (due to premiere in May 2021). Anne Tismer has been invited to the Theatertreffen 2021 with “NAME HER. Eine Suche nach den Frauen+” (world premiere 2020, Ballhaust Ost), the second section of Marie Schleef‘s trilogy “Spaces of Emancipation”.
