Caleb Salgado is an electronic music composer, double bassist and artist based in Berlin. They trained in classical and jazz musics as a double bassist, as well as in electroacoustic composition. In recent years, Salgado’s focus has shifted away from purely acoustic idioms to regularly releasing and performing solo electroacoustic music compositions under the moniker Perfect Deleted Futures. Salgado’s earlier work includes an electro-acoustic suite of double bass zones situated at the liminal psychoacoustic textural space between composed and improvised composition. More recent works shift through moments of musique concrète, cybernetic compositions, post-techno textures, neo-medievalism and the starkness of industrial and minimal musics. Notable collaborations include Peaches, Anika, Black Cracker, Helmut Lachenmann, Laure M. Hiendl, Elaine Michener, Pierre Boulez, UCC Harlo (Annie Garlid), Roscoe Mitchell, Jim Jarmusch, Soundwalk Collective, and others.
