Henrike Commichau was born in 1992, grew up in Potsdam and studied acting at the Otto Falckenberg Schule in Munich until 2017. During her studies, she founded the theatre duo hashtagmonike together with Mona Vojacek Koper. At the Münchner Kammerspiele she performed in the collectively developed play “Don’t Worry Be Yoncé” by director Stephanie Van Batum which is currently shown at the Schauspielhaus Bochum.

She played in the semi-documentary film “Nö York”, which she conceived in collaboration with filmmaker Vera Brückner and which premiered at the Festival Max Ophüls Preis Film in 2019. Since the 2018/19 season, she has been a permanent ensemble member at Theaterhaus Jena under the direction of the Dutch acting collective Wunderbaum. There she plays and develops plays collectively with the ensemble and with hashtagmonike. In collaboration with the Medical Students for Choice and the doctor Kristina Hänel, she created the play “Damenwahl”. This was followed by “Witch Bitch” and, in collaboration with Florian Schaumberger, Wunderbaum and many international artists, the five-part series “Holiday in Germany”. In the summer of 2021, hashtagmonike premiered her last piece “Friendship Never Ends”.

In 2022 she will be seen in the second season of the ZDF series “Fett und Fett” by Chiara Grabmayr and Jakob Schreier.

For the 2022/23 season, she will create a new collective form of leadership at Theaterhaus Jena under the artistic direction of Lizzy Timmers and Maarten Van Otterdijk as part of the ensemble council.
