Ingo Schulze

Ingo Schulze was born in 1962 in Dresden, where he also grew up. After his basic military service, he studied Classical Philology in Jena. Afterwards, he worked as a dramaturge for the theatre and, since 1990, as a journalist in Altenburg. In 1993, he founded an advertising paper in St. Petersburg. He has been living in Berlin since the autumn of 1993. In 1995, his debut book “33 Momente des Glücks (33 moments of happiness)” was published, followed by “Simple Stories” (1998), “Neue Leben (New Lives)” (2005), “Handy” (2007), “Adam und Evelyn (Adam and Evelyn)” (2008) and “Orangen und Engel (Oranges and Angel)” (2010). His work has been translated into several languages and received numerous awards. He is a member of the Berlin Academy of the Arts and the German Academy of Language and Literature.
