Thomas Martius

Thomas Martius was born in 1966 and lives in Berlin. Among other subjects, he studied Applied Theatre Studies in Gießen. Since 1994, Thomas Martius has been working as a freelance artist. He created more than a hundred performances, theatre projects and videos. His work is chiefly based on his own experiences and his own writing; they are often site- and situation-specific and multi-media in design. Documentary fiction, scenic architecture, amusement, film-still, filmic theatre of remembrance, minimal acting – these are some of the terms that Thomas Martius has coined to describe his work.
