Ian McEwan, born in 1948, is one of the most acclaimed British writers. Among his awards are the 1998 Booker Prize for “Amsterdam” and the 1999 Alfred-Toepfer-Foundation’s Shakespeare Prize for his oeuvre. His novel “Atonement” became a worldwide bestseller in 2001 and was made into a film starring Keira Knightley. His novels translated into German include “Saturday”, “On Chesil Beach”, “Solar” and, most recently, “Sweet Tooth”. His latest novel “The Children Act” will be published in German in January by Diogenes.
