Percussion Orchestra Cologne is a project that was launched by Schlagquartett Köln in May 2018 – for the world premiere of Enno Poppe’s work “Schrauben” for 13 percussionists at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. The ensemble is made up of the four members of Schlagquartett Köln together with colleagues from acclaimed international new music ensembles, soloists from the independent scene, students and alumni. Percussion Orchestra Cologne is committed to expanding the repertoire for larger cast percussion ensembles and performing these works.
