Claudia Bossard was born in Zug/Switzerland in 1985 and works as a director. She studied Literature and Drama Studies at Bern University. She has directed productions in the independent Swiss theatre scene, worked as a dramaturg for VOR ORT and deRothfils and was a member of the Tojo Theater Kollektiv. In 2015, during her time as an assistant director at Konzert Theater Bern, she directed the German-language premiere of Rodrigo Garcia’s play “Picknick auf Golgatha (Golgata Picnic)”. She moved to Schauspielhaus Graz for two seasons, where she directed a production of “Lupus in Fabula” by Henriette Dushe, which was invited to the Heidelberger Stückemarkt’s NachSpielPreis and to the Berlin Autorentheatertage in 2016. Other productions include Nikolai Gogol’s “Der Revisor (The Government Inspector)” for Tojo Theater Bern, Ingeborg Bachmann’s “Der gute Gott von Manhattan” combined with the exchange of letters “Herzzeit” at Schauspielhaus Graz and “Perfect Wives”, based on Ira Levin’s “The Stepford Wives” at Theater Osnabrück. From March 2018, her production of the Austrian premiere of Thomas Melle’s play “Bilder von uns” will be presented at Schauspielhaus Graz.
