Taylan Cihan

Turkish composer and guitarist Taylan Cihan worked as a graphic composer for many years. After winning an international guitar competition, he studied electric guitar at the London Guitar Institute. Following this, he completed jazz composition studies at Bilgi University, Istanbul, and studied composition with Kamran Ince at the University of Memphis as well as conducting with Kraig Alan Williams.
Taylan Cihan is currently a doctoral candidate at Cornell University in composition with Steven Stucky and Robert Sierra, as well as electronic music with Kevin Ernste. Taylan Cihan has created sound art works and installations; he works with live electronics, combines them with different acoustic media and is an exponent of the real-time music scene.
