Ozi Ozar

Ozi Ozar is a queer artist from Tehran and based in Berlin. Ozi studied theater and film directing in Tehran, as well as dramaturgy in Frankfurt am Main. Their artistic practice combines comedy, interactive theater and the translation of social media formats into theater—and vice versa. Central to their work are questions around identity politics and queerness. Central to their work are questions around identity politics and queerness. As a multidisciplinary freelance Artist, Ozi has experience in directing, dramaturgy, translation, graphic and web design and as a digital content creator.

Ozi has collaborated with various festivals and initiatives, including Berliner Theatertreffen, Missy Magazine, HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm, HELLERAU, Alliance of International Production Houses, Initiative für Solidarität am Theater, Theater Dortmund, Woman* Life Freedom Collective, Leave No One Behind, Performing Exiles and Münchner Kammerspiele. Since 2024, Ozi has been part of the program team at Ballhaus Ost.
