Director – Copenhagen, Denmark
Participant International Forum 2024

Kristoffer Lundberg is a theatre director and playwright based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He graduated in Theater Directing from The Danish School of Performing Arts in December 2021. In 2022/23 he served as artistic director at Momentum Theater in Denmark, exploring the increase of nationalism and sense of nostalgia through three new productions, together with set designer Katrine Krohn. Kristoffer Lundberg has been doing adaptations of classics (“The Tempest” 2023, “Odysseus must die!” 2022, and “The Birds by Aristophanes” 2021), written new plays and his own dramatisations. In this season, he premiered with an adaptation of “Sapiens” by Yuval Noah Harari, (“RULERS OF THE WORLD”, 2024) and is directing and rewriting the “Three Musketeers” with a focus on friendships, UN and NATO. His artistic practice revolves around the power of imagination and questions concerning the authority to tell stories. Exploring what we tell, how the stories affect us, who tells them, where they are told, and the potential of changing narratives, are usually at the core of the pieces. With a sense of vulnerability, playfulness and humour, and through mixing popular references, with classics and current affairs, he tries to confront us with our biases and challenges our inclination to categorise and compartmentalise.
