Hannah Baumann, born in 1991, is a dramaturg at Theaterhaus Jena. She studied dramaturgy at Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig and Spatial Strategies at Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin. She was involved in projects at, among others, Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, HAU Hebbel am Ufer Berlin and Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt, and was a preparatory curatorial assistant for the Performing Exiles festival (curated by Matthias Lilienthal with Rabih Mroué). In 2023 she directed the play “nüchtern (monsters dancing in the dark)” at Staatstheater Augsburg with Christina Jung, a research into relatives of people with alcohol addiction. She also worked as a workshop leader and as a conceptual advisor for several associations for political education (including 7xjung) in the field of anti-discrimination, and gives FLINTA* training in Muay Thai boxing. In 2019 she received the Elsa Neumann scholarship from the State of Berlin for the advancement of young artists. The focus of her work is on research-based and documentary piece developments and performances as well as accompanying collective writing processes as a dramaturg and theatre maker.
