Fernando Vigueras Sánchez

Fernando Vigueras Sánchez is a sound artist and musician specializing in sound experimental practices and languages. His work delves into the object-oriented utilization of musical instruments to recreate specific modes of sound production, employing site-specific interventions, concerts and interactive installations. He earned a master’s degree in musical performance, with a specialization in guitar, from UNAM in Mexico. His series of sound installations, titled “Traslaciones”, was showcased in the eponymous exhibition at the Multimedia Center of the CNA (2019). He also participated in exhibitions such as “La voz oculta de los objetos” at Callejón del ruido / Universidad de Guanajuato (2019) and “Modos de oír” at Laboratorio Arte Alameda / Ex Teresa Arte Actual (2018/19). Beyond his artistic endeavors, he has undertaken curatorial programmes and exhibition projects for various institutions and museums in Mexico City. Vigueras Sánchez has collaborated with artists such as Carmina Escobar, Le Quan Ninh, Ute Wassermann, Aura Arreola, Galia Eibenschutz, Yuko Kaseki, Jaap Blonk and Katia Castañeda, among others. He is a member of Cuatro Minimal and Generación Espontánea.
