Philipp Löhle

Dramatist and director Philipp Löhle was invited to the Stückemarkt in 2007 with “Genannt Gospodin” (Alias Gospodin). He won the TT Stückemarkt Commission, which led to the creation of the commissioned play “Die Kaperer”. His works include “Nullen und Einsen”, “Das Ding” and “Der Wind macht das Fähnchen”. While he was still at university studying History, Theatre and Media Studies and German Literature, he wrote his first plays, journalistic articles and film scripts. Philipp Löhle has been playwright in residence at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, at the Nationaltheater Mannheim and at the Staatstheater Mainz. He has been awarded numerous prizes, among them the Mülheim Theatre Festival Audience Award, the Heidelberg Stückemarkt Jury Prize and the Emerging Artists’ Prize from the Federation of German Industries (BDI).
