Moritz Rinke, born in Worpswede, was invited to the Stückemarkt in 1996 with “Der graue Engel”, in 1997 with “Der Mann, der noch keiner Frau Blöße entdeckte” (The Man who Never Yet Saw Woman’s Nakedness) and in 2000 with “Republik Vineta”. “Der Mann, der noch keiner Frau Blöße entdeckte” was awarded the PEN Club’s Literary Prize in 1997 and was nominated for the Mülheim Dramatists’ Prize along with “Republik Vineta”, which was selected as the best German-language play in 2001 and made into a feature film in 2008. Rinke’s new play “Wir lieben und wissen nichts” (We Love And Know Nothing) was premiered in Frankfurt in 2012 and has been performed at numerous theatres. There has been a ZDF/ARTE film about Moritz Rinke.
