Born in New York in 1960, she has been living in Berlin since 1984. Jocelyn B. Smith is not limited to any single genre and has worked with very diverse artists, among them musicians like Miles Davis’ former drummer Lenny White, Till Brönner or Falco, or composers like Mikis Theodorakis and Heiner Goebbels. She has published more than a dozen albums to date and has received numerous awards, like the Golden Record for the title song of the Disney film “The Lion King” (1995) or the Jazz Award 2003 for her album “Blue Nights & Nylons”.
