
Nimrod Opera Zurich has primarily devoted itself to contemporary music theatre. The opera company was founded in 2000, presenting the opera “Powder her Face” by Thomas Adès as its first production. It was shown in Tel Aviv, Zagreb, Chicago, Switzerland and Italy. Further productions toured internationally, among them Morton Feldman’s “Neither”, “Greek” by Mark-Anthony Turnage, “Diotima e Euridice” by Nicola Sani, Kurt Weill’s “Down in the Valley”, “Alissa” by Darius Milhaud, “Hin und zurück” by Paul Hindemith for the Kurt Weill Festival Dessau in 2007 and “For you” by Michael Berkely, which was based on a libretto by Ian McEwan. The company first performed Michael Jarrell’s “Cassandre” at the Reduta Theatre in Brno/Czech Republic in 2009.
