Katharina Wisotzki (they, them) is a dramaturg, festival maker and social justice & diversity trainer. They studied Music and German Philology in Oldenburg and Tours (France) and have been working in the fields of organisation and dramaturgy for various theatre festivals and institutions since 2011, among them PAZZ Performing Arts Festival (Oldenburg), Festival Theaterformen (Braunschweig and Hanover) and Freifeld Festival (Oldenburg). In 2018, Katharina Wisotzki and Katrin Windheuser founded the transdisciplinary feminist 13° Festival in Bremen. Its 2021 edition received the Advancement Award for Women’s Culture of the Hanseatic City of Bremen. From March 2020 to December 2022, Katharina Wisotzki was in charge of the programme of Theater im Pavillon (Hanover) where she founded the MULTITUDE Festival for feminist and intersectional solidarity. Furthermore, Katharina Wisotzki works as a moderator, consultant and jury member (most recently at the 2022 BEST OFF Festival of Stiftung Niedersachsen) and has been coordinating the network #strongertogether since 2022, which provides networking opportunities to theatre festivals that operate intersectionally. In 2023, the network will host the training series “How to: intersektional veranstalten”. An associated anthology, edited and co-authored by Katharina Wisotzki, will be published by transcript Verlag in the spring of 2024. From the 2023/24 season, Katharina Wisotzki will be artistic director of Universen – a solidary stage for the urban society – at Staatstheater Hannover.
