Clemens Sienknecht

Born in Hamburg in 1964. He dropped out of studying sport and music and made various attempts at becoming rich and famous with overrated bands in Northern Germany. He played in and was thrown out of Vicky Leandros’ gala ensemble, then worked as a pianist for theatres from Kiel to Zurich. Since 1993 he has worked regularly with Christoph Marthaler. He has presented evenings of his own in Hanover, Basel, Zurich, Cologne, Dresden and Hamburg. “Effi Briest – although with a different text and a different melody” at the Berlin Theatertreffen 2016 will be the first work of Clemens Sienknecht’s to be presented at this festival.
