Diamanda La Berge Dramm’s (*1991) musical work moves between classical music, new music and improvisation. At the age of 13, she premiered Louis Andriessen's "Raadsels at the opening of the Holland Festival 2005 at the Concertgebouw. She studied music at the New England Conservatory in Boston and was awarded the John Cage Award for her contribution to New Music at the end of her Bachelor's degree. She completed her Master's degree with Vera Beths at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. She received the Nicolai Prize for the recital she gave there. La Berge Dramm performs internationally as a soloist, in chamber music ensembles and with various bands. In spring 2018, she won the Dutch Classical Talent Tour & Award, the first ever string soloist to do so, and released the series "Violin Spaces" together with Garth Knox in the same year. La Berge Dramm has worked with numerous composers of contemporary music, including Christian Wolff, Alvin Lucier, Gunther Schuller, Chaya Czernowin, George Benjamin, and Georg Friedrich Haas. In collaboration with the British artist, curator and lyricist SJ Fowler, she released the EP "Beastings" in 2019 and a CD of her project around Charles Yves' Fifth Violin Sonata, created during her residency at the Muziekgebouw Eindhoven, in 2020. As co-founder of the collective music centre Splendor, she regularly initiates and gives concerts in the centre of Amsterdam.
