Teresa Vergho, born in Regensburg in 1980, studied stage and costume design at the HfbK Dresden and the UdK Berlin with Johannes Leiacker and Florence von Gerkan after completing her tailoring apprenticeship at the Residenztheater in Munich. From 2009 to 2012 she was a set assistant at the Münchner Kammerspiele. Here she began working with Johan Simons, with whom she created costume designs for Elfriede Jelinek's "Die Straße. The City. Der Überfall.", Georg Büchner's "Dantons Tod", Richard Wagner's "Rheingold" and Theodor Storm's "Der Schimmelreiter", Sarah Kane's "Gesäubert/Gier/4.48 Psychose" (invited to the Theatertreffen 2012) and also after her appointment for Alain Platel's "Tauberbach" (Theatertreffen 2014). Since 2012 Vergho has worked as a freelance stage and costume designer, in addition to the Münchner Kammerspiele, at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, the Staatstheater Nürnberg, the Stuttgart Opera, the Ruhrtriennale, the Thalia Theater Hamburg, the NTGent, the Schauspiel Köln and the Schauspielhaus Zürich. She has worked with directors such as Benny Claessens, Susanne Kennedy, Ersan Mondtag, Pinar Karabulut, Bettina Bruinier, Karen Breece, Jossi Wieler and Karin Henkel, among others, and was awarded a teaching position for costume design at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich in the summer semester of 2014. For her costume design for 'The Suicide Sisters' (directed by Susanne Kennedy), she was nominated for the German theatre prize DER FAUST in the stage and costume design category in 2017. In 2022 she is responsible for the costume design for the first joint opera production by Susanne Kennedy and the artist Markus Selg at 'Einstein on the Beach', in the Theater Basel production in cooperation with the Berliner Festspiele
