Alexandra Klobouk is an author, illustrator and visual storyteller. In her work she combines visual storytelling with journalism and accessibility with deeper meaning. She uses vivid, humorous images and personal stories to approach complex subjects such as climate change, equal rights, intercultural communication and social diversity. She has been published by Suhrkamp, Insel, C. H. Beck and Kunstmann, contributes to numerous magazines and newspapers in German-speaking countries and works regularly for the Berliner Festspiele. She has a weekly column, GEHEN (“your weekly flaneur”), with the author Christian Seiler for the Austrian newspaper KURIER. Her books “Polymeer” (“Polymer Sea”, Onkel & Onkel), “Der Islam für Kinder & Erwachsene” (“Islam for Children and Adults”, C. H. Beck) and “Lissabon im Land am Rand” (“Lisbon in a Country on the Edge”, Viel & Mehr) each won prizes from the Stiftung Buchkunst as “The Most Beautiful German Books”. Her next book will be published by Kiepenheuer & Witsch in 2026.
