Anastassiya Tarassova lives in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Since 2015, she has been the producer of the independent theatre company ARTiSHOCK . She is responsible for projects and collaborations aimed to promote modern theatre of Kazakhstan on international platforms.
The theatre company ARTiSHOCK was founded in 2001 and today works with documentary material, new drama, modern world literature and music. In 2016, Anastassiya Tarassova produced the performance “UYAT” (Shame) with playwright Natalia Vorozhbit (Ukraine) and political scientist Dosym Satpayev (Kazakhstan), in 2017 the performance “STEPPE CIRCUS BAIKONUR” with the Engineer Theatre AKHE (Russia), and in 2019 the chamber opera “ER TOSTIK” with composer Alexander Manotskov (Russia). In 2017, she worked for a crowdfunding development project in aid of the construction of a big stage for the ARTiSHOCK theatre. In 2015, she produced the performance “Straight down the Tole bi street” about Almaty for the international festival Il Teatro Nudo di Teresa Pomodoro (Milan, Italy), in 2016 the street performance “Nomads go to the sea” for the Astana Art Fest (Astana, Kazakhstan), in 2017 the performance “Nord-Ost” based on the play by T. Buchsteiner for the Festival International de Théâtre Sens Interdits (Lyon, France).
