Thomas Pigor (*1956) is a cabaret artist, songwriter, author and composer. He has been part of the duo “Pigor singt – Benedikt Eichhorn muss begleiten” (Pigor Sings. Benedikt Eichhorn Has to Accompany, Volumes 1 to 10) since 1995. Their “Salon-Hiphop” is one of most innovative programmes in Germany’s chanson scene. The two gave a guest performance of Volume F, their French programme, at the Avignon Festival. One hundred episodes of Thomas Pigor’s musical radio column “Chanson des Monats” (Chanson of the Month, 2010 to 2018) were broadcast regularly by SWR2 and Deutschlandfunk. Pigor is also a librettist, composer and translator for musical theatre. He has written, among other things, two operettas titled “Drei Männer im Schnee” (Three Men in the Snow, 2019) and “Oh! Oh! Amelio!” (2024) after Georges Feydeau, which both premiered at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich. In 2023 Thomas Pigor received the German Music Authors’ Prize awarded by GEMA, Germany’s collective management organisation for creators, and in 2024 the German Musical Theatre Prize for Best Lyrics.
