Ilias Botseas

Ilias Botseas, born in 1995 in Erbach (Odenwald), studied theater studies and journalism at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. From 2017 to 2019, Botseas was a young juror at the Theatertreffen der Jugend and an alumnus at the Tanztreffen der Jugend.

Until 2023, Botseas was a juror at the Theatertreffen der Jugend, designed the “Audio Venue Tour” for the 2021 Berlin Performing Arts Festival, worked as an editor for the 2022 Theatertreffen blog and acted as a prize juror at the WESTWIND Festival. Botseas was also a member of the social media team of the Treffen junger Autor*innen and a guest speaker at Theater HochX on the topic of “Adultism in Theatre”. Botseas took part in the Theatertreffen für junges Publikum NRW and received a scholarship from the Akademie für zeitgenössischen Theaterjournalismus. Most recently, Botseas worked as a production assistant and press officer at the Landungsbrücken theatre in Frankfurt am Main.

Together with Antigone Akgün, Botseas produced the radio play “Zwischen Marmor und Asphalt” (Between Marble and Asphalt) as part of the Frankfurt Forum 2020 of the Children’s and Youth Theatre Center in the Federal Republic of Germany and curated the audio venue tour of the Performing Arts Festival Berlin 2021.
