
Monika Rinck was born in Zweibrücken in 1969 and lives in Berlin. She studied Religious Studies, General and Comparative Literary Studies and German Philology in Bochum and Berlin as well as at Yale University in New Haven. Her works have been published by several publishing houses since 1989. She received the Peter-Huchel-Preis for most recent volume of poetry, “HONIGPROTOKOLLE”, which was published by kookbooks in the spring of 2015. In the spring of 2015, a volume of polemic writings, “RISIKO UND IDIOTIE”, followed, also published by kookbooks. Monika Rinck is a member of the P.E.N.-Club, of Lyrikknappschaft Schöneberg, of the Berlin Academy of the Arts and the German Academy for Language and Poetry. Together with Ann Cotten and Sabine Scho, she has been performing under the name RottenKinckshow since 2008. In 2015, Monika Rinck received the Kleist-Award. She translates from the Hungarian, in cooperation with Orsolya Kalàsz, collaborates with musicians and composers, and occasionally teaches at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
