Bernhard Studlar

Author and dramaturge Bernhard Studlar was invited to the Stückemarkt in 2001 with his play “Transdanubia-Dreaming”. Other plays by him include “Die wundersame Reise des Roman Horn”, an audio play co-authored by Andreas Sauter, “Die Prima Stadtmusikanten” and “iPlay”. After studying Theatre Studies, Philosophy, German Language and Literature and Journalism, he attended the Creative Writing for the Stage study program at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1998 to 2002. Since 2000, he has worked as a dramatist – sometimes as a co-author with Andreas Sauter – and has received many awards, among them the Kleist Prize for Young Dramatists, the Audio Play Prize of the Year from Radio Basel and the Heidelberg Stückemarkt Prize. Since 2005, he has directed the playwright theatre project Wiener Wortstaetten (www.wortstaetten.at).
