Turgut Erçetin studied composition and music theory with Pieter Snapper, Kamran Ince and Michael Ellison at Istanbul Technical University Center for Advanced Music Studies (MIAM). Many works by the young composer have already been performed in Turkey, the USA and Europe. His compository focus lies in post-spectral as well as computer-generated music. He incorporates extensive musical landscapes in his works through the use of unconventional instrumentation. Since 2009, Turgut Erçetin has taken part in the Stanford University’s graduate programme for composition in California, where he worked with Brian Ferneyhough. He is continuing his research on computer music at the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA).
