Mona Vojacek Koper, born in Los Angeles in 1992, is a German-American actor and theatre maker. 2013–2017 she studied acting at the Otto Falckenberg Schule in Munich. While still a student, she performed in several productions at the Münchner Kammerspiele and founded the theatre duo hashtagmonike with fellow student Henrike Commichau. In 2018, she received debut funding from the City of Munich for the one-woman show “Sorry Not Sorry”, which she realised in the same year together with dramaturg Christina Hommel at the theatre HochX.
2018–2021 she was a permanent ensemble member at Theaterhaus Jena under the direction of the Dutch acting collective Wunderbaum. There she performed and developed plays collectively with the ensemble and with hashtagmonike. In collaboration with the Medical Students for Choice and the doctor Kristina Hänel, hashtagmonike created the play “Damenwahl” in 2019. This was followed in 2020 by “Witch Bitch” and, with video artist Florian Schaumberger, the five-part series “Holiday in Germany”. In the summer of 2021, hashtagmonike celebrated the premiere of their latest play “Friendship Never Ends”.
Vojacek Koper has been living and working freelance in Munich again since the 2021/22 season. At the Theaterhaus Jena she continues to work as a guest actor and theatre maker in several plays. She also works there as a permanent house collective with her theatre duo hashtagmonike. She is also currently guesting with “Don’t Worry Be Yoncé” at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. She regularly plays roles in film and television and realises her own performative projects as a solo artist and author, most recently her stand-up comedy monologue “All By MySelfie” (directed by Shenja Lacher).
